The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) softball teams competed in week eight of the 2021 season.

Brooke Silcox (Tipp City, Ohio) Defiance College | Infield | Sophomore - Silcox helped lead the Yellow Jackets at the plate to a 4-0 week in HCAC play.
She ended the four games with seven hits, four doubles, five runs, and five RBI.
She also finished with a batting average of .538. She sits at third overall in the conference with a batting average of .506 and leads the conference with 15 doubles.
Pitching Athlete of the Week:
Lily Beurman (Evansville, Ind.) Hanover College | Pitcher | Graduate Student - Compton dominated the Manchester Spartans this past week picking up her first complete game no-hitter of the season. Compton tallied 11 strikeouts on 22 batters faced allowing just one walk.
Notable Performances:
- Bobbi Adams (Delaware, Ohio) Bluffton University | Catcher | Junior - Adams hit .500 (7-of-14) with two homers, two doubles and four runs scored. She slugged a whopping 1.071 with six RBI as the Beavers split with Albion and Adrian this week.
- Erin Norman (Pleasant Hill, Ohio) Bluffton University | Pitcher | Junior - Norman went 1-0 with a 2.62 ERA in 13.1 innings of work. She struck out six and held the opposition to a .245 batting average. Norman tossed a five-hit shutout in Bluffton's 7-0 win over Albion on Tuesday.
- Taylor Biggs (Cincinnati, Ohio) Defiance College | Pitcher | Senior - Biggs notched two shutout victories in her two starts over the week. She pitched all six innings in a 10-0 win vs. Anderson with five strikeouts and pitched all seven innings in 3-0 battle with Rose-Hulman where she recorded four strikeouts. She finished the two game pitching 13.0 innings, tallying nine strikeouts, and ended with a fantastic 0.00 ERA.
- Stephanni Kleber (Seymour, Ind.) Franklin College | Pitcher | First-Year – Kleber turned in the best outing of her young career on Sunday against nationally-ranked Mount St. Joseph in a 3-1 Franklin win that earned a split with the defending conference champions. She scattered five hits, walked two and struck out two in a complete game effort
- Lauren Beaman (Indianapolis, Ind.) Hanover College | Outfield | First-Year - Beaman led the Panthers to a 2-0 week as they swept the Spartans of Manchester. The first year finished the series with a .625 batting average including five hits on eight plate appearances and two doubles. She recorded four runs with no strikeouts.
- Kamryn McCool (Brookeville, Ind.) Mount St. Joseph University | Pitcher | Senior – McCool was dominant this week in her lone appearance against Franklin. The Senior pitched seven innings of one run softball allowing only three hits and one earned run, while striking out nine batters. This effort earned McCool her 10th win of the season.
- Ariel Thomasson (Boonville, Ind.) Rose-Hulman institute of Technology | Pitcher | First-Year – Thomasson allowed just earned two runs in a complete game performance at Defiance with seven strikeouts to lead the Rose-Hulman pitching performance for the week.
- Taylor Senter (Scottsville, Ky.) Transylvania University | Outfield | Senior - Senter had a total of four hits, including one double, and two RBI over a doubleheader vs Anderson University on Sunday afternoon.
- Carlee Jeter (Lexington, Ky.) Transylvania University | Pitcher | Sophomore - Jeter pitched 14 full innings in a doubleheader vs Anderson on Sunday afternoon. She allowed just 10 total hits, with only three runs that of which all came in game two of the doubleheader. She walked only two batters and struck out 11.
