The Lions were in control throughout the contest, taking a 3-0 lead in the second inning.

Mount St. Joseph added a pair of insurance runs, after Transylvania posted a single run in the third inning, with one in the fourth and sixth frame to take a 5-1 lead.

Transylvania worked a pair of runs home in the seventh, but it wasn’t enough as the Lions held on for the win.

The HCAC recognizes an All-Tournament Team and an MVP of the Softball Tournament. That team can be seen below.

The Lions earn the HCAC automatic qualification bid to the Division III NCAA Tournament. They will find out their draw in the tournament on Monday.
