HCAC 2022-23 Men’s Tennis Notebook, Week 6

The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) men’s tennis teams competed in week six of the 2022-23 season.

HCAC Men’s Tennis Schedule

Athlete of the Week:  

Owen Reynolds (Gilbert, Ariz.) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Sophomore - Reynolds helped Rose-Hulman defeat Principia 6-3 by winning at No. 1 singles (1-6, 6-3, 10-7) and with Rhian Seneviratne at No. 1 doubles (8-2). The victory also marked the first NCAA men's coaching win for first-year head coach Greg Couch. 

Notable Performances:  

•    Breann Beachy (Goshen, Ind.) Manchester Univesrity | First Year - During the Spartans' spring opener at Wabash, Beachy competed at No. 3 singles and No. 2 doubles. Beachy played a competitive match, losing at No. 2 singles 1-6 and 4-6. 

•    Alejandro Perez Canedo (Selden, N.Y.) Transylvania University | First Year – Perez Canedo won in both his double and singles matches this weekend against Wittenberg. He won his doubles match 8-6 then went on to split his next three singles matches going; 6-0, 6-3, and then 4-6. (D: 1-0, S: 2-1)
