Naloxone Community Trainings
At these simple trainings, adults will learn how to identify an opioid overdose and how to administer the overdose reversal drug Naloxone (or Narcan).
The Layperson Naloxone (NARCAN) training will teach you how to recognize the signs of an opioid overdose and how to administer the opioid overdose reversal drug Naloxone.
TOPICS INCLUDE:
• Ability to recognize the signs of an opioid overdose
• Acquire knowledge of how to administer the opioid overdose reversal drug Naloxone
• Understand the role of harm reduction in the overall opioid
• Public health crisis solutions / action plan / strategy
All individuals trained will receive an emergency Naloxone kit to take with them. This training is offered at no cost through a partnership with Upstream Prevention. To learn more about Upstream, visit their website: www.upstreamprevention.org
