The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Outdoor track and field teams competed in week five of the 2022 season.

Men’s Track Athlete of the Week:
Jailen Hobbs (Spring Lake, N.C.) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Sophomore – Hobbs was named Men's Track Athlete of the Meet at the Indiana Division III Championships after winning two events highlighted by another school record. Hobbs won the 100 in 10.69 seconds for the No. 20 ranked time in Division III this season and a new Rose-Hulman school record. He also won the 200 in 22.53 and was part of a second place 4-x-100 relay team.
Men’s Field Athlete of the Week:
Zak Wiley (Mooresville, Ind.) Franklin College | Senior – Wiley was named the Most Outstanding Thrower at the Indiana DIII Championships over the weekend, winning one event and earning points in two others. He won the hammer throw with a toss of 50.37m and added a runner-up finish in the discus with a new PR throw of 47.66m. He placed sixth in the javelin with a mark of 40.46m.
Women’s Track Athlete of the Week:
Elizabeth Lohman (Fort Wayne, Ind.) Manchester University | Graduate Student - Lohman led the Manchester women with an event win in the 3000m steeplechase at the Indiana D3 Championships on Saturday at DePauw. Lohman's top time of 11:12.77 crushed her previous top mark in the event, while remaining as the second fastest mark in program history. Her time leads the HCAC by over a minute and currently ranks as the 13th fastest mark in the country.
Women’s Field Athlete of the Week:
Rofiat Adeyemi (Austin, Texas) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Sophomore – Adeyemi won the triple jump (35' 6") and came home second in the long jump (16' 11 1/4") at the Indiana Division III Championships on Saturday at DePauw.

Men’s
Desmond Gist (Detroit, Mich.) Bluffton University | Sophomore - At the All-Ohio Championships on Saturday, Desmond ran a season best/conference best 110H placing first (15.01), won the long jump with a PR and conference best (6.91 meters/22-08.00 feet), and was part of the conference leading 4x400 which placed fourth (3:26.10).
Tawon Cannon (Columbus, Ohio) Defiance College | Sophomore - Cannon took first place in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 55.02 seconds which is the fourth-best in team history at the Division III All-Ohio Championships this past Saturday.
Connor Del Carmen (Chesterfield, Mo.) Earlham College | First-Year - Del Carmen earned two top-three finishes at the DePauw Indiana DIII Invitational on Friday. He broke the school record in the 5k with a time of 15:10.20 to finish in third place. He then scored a second-place result in the 1500 with a time of 4:04.25.
Ethan Weston (Mount Washington, Ky.) Hanover College | Sophomore - Weston paced the Panthers as part of the Indiana Division III Championships as he claimed the top spot in the 10,000-meter run with a time of 31:43.39.
Nate Reynolds (Mitchell, Ind.) Hanover College | First-Year - Reynolds led Hanover in the in the field events as part of the Indiana Division III Championships, winning the long jump with a leap of 6.68 meters.
Enrique Salazar (Plymouth, Ind.) Manchester University | Junior - Salazar earned an event win in the 5000 meter at the DePauw D3 Championships on Saturday. Salazar clocked a top time of 14:57.60 – a new personal record and the third fastest mark in school history. His mark is the fastest in the HCAC by 13 seconds.
Ben Villafuerte (Angola, Ind.) Manchester University | Junior - Villafuerte took home the top honors in the shot put on Saturday at the Indiana D3 Championships hosted at DePauw. His leading mark of 15.04 meter was a new personal record and bumped him up to seventh on the all-time MU Top 10 listings. His mark also leads the HCAC this outdoor season.
Justin Dreyling (Cincinnati, Ohio) Mount St. Joseph University | Sophomore - Dreyling had another impressive week for the Lions competing at the All-Ohio Track meet. Dreyling finished first in the Triple Jump with a jump of 13.59M. Dreyling also finished second in the Long Jump with a jump of 6.83M.
Tim Youndt (Pottstown, Pa.) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Junior – Youndt won the triple jump with a personal best mark (45' 7 3/4") at the Indiana Division III Championships. He also placed fourth in the long jump (21' 0 1/2") and fourth in the 110-hurdles (15.79).
Nathan Very (Louisville, Ky.) Transylvania University | First-Year - Very competed in the 1500 meter run on Saturday at the University of Charleston (WV) invite. He finished in ninth out of 24 in a field of athletes across all NCAA divisions.
Women’s
Noelle Loller (Lapel, Ind.) Anderson University | Junior - Loller captured first in the 10,000 in the Huntington Invitational with a PR time of 38:00.76. She currently ranks second in the conference and 40th in the nation in the 10,000.
Delaney Moore (Indianapolis, Ind.) Anderson University | First-Year - During the Huntington Invitational, Moore took fourth in the long jump (4.61 meters) and fifth in the high jump (1.50 meters). Among HCAC leaders, those performances rank first in the high jump and tied for fifth in the long jump.
Zaleeya Martin (Shelbyville, Ind.) Hanover College | Junior - Martin turned in a school record performance in the 100-meter dash to lead the Panthers at the Indiana Division III Championships, winning the event in a time of 12.25 seconds. She also was a part of the 4x100-meter relay that took first in a time of 50.51 seconds.
Jessie Stenger (Brookeville, Ind.) Hanover College | First-Year - Stenger broke the Hanover record in the discus with a toss of 40.61 meters finishing second as part of the Indiana Division III Championships. Stenger also turned in a third place mark in the shot put.
Carley Camp (Logansport, Ind.) Manchester University | First-Year - Camp had a strong day in both the shot put and hammer throw events at the Indiana D3 Championships at DePauw. Camp placed second in both with respective marks of 12.86m and 43.33m. Camp's mark in the shot put was a new PR and still ranks as the fifth-best mark in Manchester history.
Hannah Keith (Cincinnati, Ohio) Mount St. Joseph University | First-Year - Keith was impressive at the All-Ohio Meet for The Mount. Keith finished second in the 400M Dash with a time of 1:01.38. Keith also ran the 200M Dash finishing 11th with a time of 27.17.
Christina Rogers (Laurel, Md.) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Senior – Rogers won the 400-meter dash at the Indiana Division III Championships in a time of 1:03.21. She also helped the 4-x-400 meter relay team place second in a time of 4:20.29.
