Athletes of the Week: Men’s Track Athlete of the Week:
Desmond Gist (Detroit, Mich.) Bluffton University | Sophomore - Gist found his stride and left the field in his wake, blazing his way to a school-record 14.46 in the 110-meter hurdles at the Mount Union Last Chance Meet. The work he put in throughout the season and especially the past two weeks since school has been out led to a fantastic performance that saw him take a whopping .34 seconds off his PR and .29 off Jason Shatto's school record. With that run, he earned the final spot in the 110 meter hurdles for the NCAA Nationals at Spire Institute in Geneva this week.
Men’s Field Athlete of the Week:
Ben Villafuerte (Angola, Ind.) Manchester University | Junior - Villafuerte tossed a personal best in the shot put on Thursday at the Mount Union Last Chacne Meet. His mark of 15.53m (50' 11 1/2") moved him up to second all-time on the Manchester Top 10 listings. His mark was also one of the top 35 marks in all of NCAA Division III this spring.
Women’s Track Athlete of the Week:
Brianna Medcalf (Central, Ind.) Hanover College | Senior - Medcalf led the Panthers at the Emory Final Qualifier this past week. The senior competed as part of the 800-meter run breaking the Hanover school record in the event. Medcalf finished third in a time of 2:16.60, breaking the previous Hanover record of 2:19.38 set in 2012.
Women’s Field Athlete of the Week:
Jessica Beckman (Glenwood, Ind.) Hanover College | Junior - Beckman led the Panthers as part of the Emory Final Qualifier this past week. The junior claimed the top spot in the discus throw with a toss of 40.68 meters. She would also take first in the shot put with a distance of 13.49 meters.

Men’s
- Duriel Moss Jr. (Homestead, Fla.) Manchester University | First-Year - Moss Jr. moved up to third all-time in the 200m following a sprint of 21.86 on Thursday afternoon at the Mount Union Last Chance Meet.
- Jailen Hobbs (Spring Lake, N.C.) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Sophomore – Hobbs capped his season with another school record and a fifth place finish in the 100-meter dash at the Augustana Invitational with a time of 10.56 seconds.
- Elizabeth Lohman (Fort Wayne, Ind.) Manchester University | Graduate Student - Lohman rounded out her collegiate career with a third place finish in the 3000m steeplechase at the Mount Union Last Chance Meet. Lohman clocked a time of 11:36.78 in the event.
- Carley Camp (Logansport, Ind.) Manchester University | First-Year - Camp earned a runner-up placement in the shot put at the Mount Union last chance meet last week. Camp posted a mark of 13.01m (42' 8 1/4"). Camp will represent Manchester at this week's NCAA Division III National Championships in Geneva, Ohio.
- Rofiat Adeyemi (Austin, Texas) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Sophomore - Adeyemi capped her historic season with a school record in the long jump (18' 9 3/4") to finish third in the event at the Augustana Last Chance Invitational. She also placed seventh in the triple jump with a mark of 37' 11 1/2".
