HCAC 2022-23 Women’s Golf Notebook, Week 3

The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) women’s golf teams competed in week three of the 2022-23 season.

 Athlete of the Week:

Patricia Windholtz (Newark, Ohio) Mount St. Joseph University | Senior - Windholtz led the team to a win at the Manchester Invitational. She did so while setting a program record 36-hole score on her way to medalist honors. On day one she fired in a 75 to pace the field, but on Sunday she finished 1-under par to finish with a 146.

 

Notable Performances:

  • Chloe Renihan (Lapel, Ind.) Anderson University | First-Year - Renihan captured second in the Forest Hills Fall Invitational with a 183 (+39). She carded rounds of 93 (+21) and 90 (+18) on the weekend. Renihan was named to the Forest Hills Fall Invitational all-tournament team.
  • Mary Jo Easley (Indianapolis, Ind.) Earlham College | Junior - Easley led Earlham at the Forest Hills Fall Invitational with a ninth-place individual finish and a final score of 217. Her lowest round was a 104 on day one of competition.
  • Taylor Caldwell (Noblesville, Ind.) Hanover College | Sophomore - Caldwell led the Panthers to a first place finish as part of the Earlham Fall Invitational this past weekend. The sophomore claimed medalist honors carding a two day total 179 (90-89) strokes.
  • Svarnika Bommakanti (Tampa, Fla.) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Junior – Bommakanti placed 19th individually in day one of the NCAA Preview in a field of 99 golfers with a strong opening day round of 77. Bommakanti played the first 13 holes at just +3 and had two birdies in the final 3 holes of the round. The field features the vast majority of the top 20 teams in NCAA Division III women's golf.
