Rose-Hulman Wins 2022 Men’s Soccer HCAC Championship
Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology survived an overtime thriller to win the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) 2022 Men’s Soccer Championship on Saturday.

Rose-Hulman defeated Hanover College, needing overtime and penalty kicks to determine a winner. Following a 1-1 draw in regulation, neither team was able to find the back of the net in two overtimes, forcing a shoot-out to determine the conference champion.
In a penalty kick shootout, the Fightin’ Engireers survived the Panthers. The sudden death PKs ended in a tally of 5-4, in favor of Rose-Hulman.
For his efforts in the post season, Rose-Hulman’s Takezo Kelly (Cincinnati, Ohio) was named the 2022 HCAC Men’s Soccer Tournament Most Outstanding Player. The HCAC recognizes an all-tournament team, with players selected to the team listed below.
Rose-Hulman earns the conference’s automatic qualification bid to the 2022 NCAA Division III Men’s Soccer Championship. The field for the championship will be announced Monday, Nov. 7 at 1:30 p.m., with the opening rounds scheduled for Nov. 12-13, 2022 at a location to be announced by the NCAA.
