HCAC 2022-23 Women’s Basketball Notebook, Week 6

The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) women’s basketball teams competed in week six of the 2022-23 season.

Athlete of the Week:

Madison Kellione (Cynthiana, Ky.) Transylvania University | Guard | Senior - In three games Madison had 55 points, 14 assists, nine rebounds (seven of which came offensively), 10 steals and went 14-14 (100 percent) from the FT line in all three wins. Season high in points and steals against JCU with 25 points and five steals.

 

Notable Performances:

•    Lexi Dellinger (Berne, Ind.) Anderson University | Guard | Graduate Student - Anderson fought to a 75-69 road overtime victory on Saturday. Dellinger notched 20 points, 13 rebounds and five assists, leading the Ravens in each category.

•    Morgan Smith (Arlington, Ohio) Bluffton University | Forward | Senior - Smith dominated inside with 17 points and a career-high 17 rebounds in Bluffton's 75-69 home loss to Anderson on Saturday afternoon. She added three assists and a steal.

•    Taylor Steinbrunner (Beavercreek, Ohio) Defiance College | Guard | Senior - Steinbrunner helped lead DC to three wins last week. She was the only player for DC in double figures each game and averaged 13 per game and 5.0 rebounds.

•    Alexis Gibson (Jeffersonville, Ind.) Earlham College | Forward | Sophomore - Gibson led Earlham in a loss in the Quaker Bowl to Wilmington College. The sophomore scored 20 points while collecting five defensive rebounds in the contest.
